A book I just finished by Mark Kurlansky

Great read for me. Very interesting how New York was so pivotal in in the world for early oyster production and how the industry adapted and changed over time with all the pressures of a modernizing society.  The love of oysters and the commentary recounted in this book of major figures of the time was well laid out and interesting to me.  If you are a fan of oysters and wonder how it all started in the new world give this book a look.
